Cecil Grattafiori Jr.

Cecil Grattafiori Jr. passed peacefully, his family by his side, on April 18th, 2022. Cecil is survived by his wife of 65 years., Dorothe (Kelleher) Grattafiori, children Kimberly Harper of Colorado Springs, CO, John (Karen) Grattafiori of Powder Springs, GA, and David (Caroline) Grattafiori of Plano, TX. Six grandchildren, Collin Harper, Major Ian Harper, Nicholas Harper, Macy Sexton, Drew Grattafiori, and Alex Grattafiori, six great-grandchildren, and his sister Gloria Misiak of Michigan.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Sr. and Josephine Grattafiori, and his brother, Charles Grattafiori.
Cecil was born in Clarksdale, MS on September 30th, 1932. After graduating from Clarksdale High School, Cecil joined the Army. He was honorably discharged in 1952, graduated from Wayne State University, and went into an executive training program with Ford Motor Co. Cecil moved his family to Plano, TX in 1972, obtained his CPA certification, and entered into private practice. Cecil retired and moved to Hot Springs Village. He loved playing bridge, earning Silver Life Master status. Cecil enjoyed golf, boating, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Cecil (pops) was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who immersed himself in his children's and grandchildren's activities. Cecil's sons and the community of Port Huron, Michigan benefited from his unwavering work with the Little League program, where he coached, built fences, prepared fields, and was active on the board. Cecil attended his family's countless baseball, hockey, and tennis matches. During Michigan winters, his family spent endless hours on the ice rink he built for them each year in the backyard. He was fiercely loyal and supportive of his children's endeavors. Cecil set examples his children and grandchildren will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
If Cecil could share just one thing, it would be how grateful he was for his family and all his wonderful neighbors who have supported his family during this difficult time. You know who you are; we will be forever humbled by your kindness.
