Cecil L. Moody, of Kathleen, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. A devoted family man, veteran, and adventurer at heart, Cecil lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a passion for discovery. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Leona Williamson Moody, and his parents, Colonel L. Moody and Clecia Pritchett Moody. Cecil proudly served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Air Force, earning six Bronze Stars for his courageous service during the Korean Conflict. He retired with honor from the United States Air Force and later continued his commitment to national service as a civil service supervisor at Robins Air Force Base. Outside of his military and civil service careers, Cecil was an avid ham radio operator, fisherman, and traveler. His love for the open road led him to explore all 50 states-a testament to his adventurous spirit. Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Mike Moody of Palm Bay, Florida; Keith Moody of Kathleen, Georgia; and Lee Moody of Kathleen, Georgia. He was a proud grandfather to 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Moody of Boulder, Colorado, and Richard Moody of China Grove, North Carolina, along with his devoted caregiver, Debbie Ellison. A graveside service honoring Cecil's life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Warner Robins, Georgia. Janet Smith will officiate the service. Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory is entrusted with his arrangements. Cecil L. Moody will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and country. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
