Cecil Earl Sarver

On May 2, 1935 Beaumont, Texas welcomed their newest citizen, Cecil Earl Sarver. He made Josephine and Murel happy parents, while Joanne beamed at becoming a big sister. A couple of years later, Herman followed as little brother.
Cecil remained in Beaumont the first 70 years of his life, enjoying the title of class clown and being a fun-loving guy throughout his school years at South Park Schools. But it wasn't all fun and games, as he worked hard to be the youngest Boy Scout to earn the Eagle Scout Award at the age of 16. His favorite and most memorable time of his life was his service to our country, serving in the US Navy. He had the privilege of serving on the USS Corey and the USS Mississippi. If you asked Cecil, he would say, "I believe every American should serve in our military forces."
After returning from his military service, he worked hard as a talented brick mason, before signing on with Mobil Chemical Company. During his time with Mobil, he and Marcy had the honor of living in Indonesia for 18 months and assisting in building what was then one of the largest gas liquefaction plants. After 29 years of dedicated service with Mobil Chemical, Cecil retired in 1992. As if all of this wasn't enough, he went on to set another record in 2002 as the oldest person in his graduating class at Lamar University.
Ready for new territory, (sick and tired of dealing with hurricanes) Cecil and his wife Marcy moved from Beaumont to Sun City, TX in 2006 where they developed abundant relationships and enjoyed many activities. During this rich time on earth, he shared his wisdom and love with his three children: Kathie, Doug, and Pam. They repaid him by bestowing upon him many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved dearly and would always ask, "How are they doing?". His 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren all love Pawpaw dearly.
His love for the outdoors, travel, playing pool, dancing, and a good nap were all part of his life. However, all of those things pale to the depth of his love for his family and his deep personal faith in Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. On January 26th, Cecil's faith was made real when he went to be with Christ in Heaven. Yes, his last breath on earth was followed by his first breath in Heaven!
Cecil will be deeply missed beyond words by his family and friends. Our delight is knowing that one day we will be reunited for all of eternity at the feet of Jesus where there is no more sorrow and no more pain.

A time of Visitation, with a Reception, will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 at Ramsey Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in The Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home.
Mr. Sarver will be laid to rest at the Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery with Military Honors at a later date.
