Cecil Vincent Stubbs passed away peacefully at his home in South Jordan, UT on July 3rd 2025 at 12:30 am at the age of 90.
He is survived by his wife Gwen Stubbs, his sister Cathy, his children: Samuel Stubbs, Kathy Jo, Damon Brown, Shannon Brown, Tamera McEntire, Amber Payne, Cameron Brown, Dustin Brown, and Eric Brown. His legacy includes 35 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Cecil was born on May 17, 1935 in Coeur D 'Alene, ID.
He was drafted into the US Army Reserves in 1958 for a two year enlistment as a radio repairman. After his time in the Army Reserves he worked for the Boeing Company doing quality control for the Saturn 5 space program in the 60's, and was very proud of the work he did there. After his work for Boeing was finished, he returned to school to get his Master's Degree in Special Education. He taught special education at several schools on the Navajo reservation for 34 years, and was a beloved and revered teacher. Cecil's quiet mannerisms and loving heart touched the lives of countless people throughout his life and he will be sorely missed.
A memorial service will be held on July 10th at 6:30 pm at South Jordan View Retirement Community at 11352 S Redwood Rd in South Jordan, UT.
