Surrounded by her family, Janice’s courageous battle with cancer came to an end on September 8, 2025. She was 88. Born in Jeannette, Pennsylvania on May 9th, 1937, the daughter of the late Oscar and Sarah (Faroux) Zellers. She graduated from Jeannette High School in 1955 and was then married to Clyde R. Stubbs for 23 years before his death in February, 1978.
Janice started working for the U.S.Postal Service in 1978. In April of 1984, she was appointed Postmaster of the Pleasant Unity post office in Pleasant Unity, Pennsylvania. She retired from the postal service in 2003, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee to be with family.
She was a fiercely dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She leaves behind four children, Jeff Stubbs (Colleen) of Erie, PA; Terry Stubbs of Nokomis, FL, Lynne Leersnyder (Mike) of Nashville, TN and Kelly Dunn (Tom Kelly) of Sarasota, FL; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Cassie, Ali, Jack, Connor, Eva, Max, Aubrey and Natalie; four great grandchildren, Odessa, Adalena, Amir and Laith along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Janice was a devout Catholic whose greatest joy and achievement was her large, close-knit family. She had a generous heart, always ready to help those in need. She was our biggest cheerleader and our constant supporter. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
