Donald Jackson Hale, lovingly known as Jackie, was born on January 12, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee. He passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025, in Hermitage, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Jackie dedicated 40 years of his life to serving as a Machine Operator with Metro Water Services. His hands were skilled in fixing anything, from children's toys to constructing steps on sheds. Jackie's generous spirit shone brightly, as he was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His infectious humor made him the life of the party; he could always light up a room and bring smiles to people’s faces. Known for his goofy antics, he famously sang "Happy Birthday" in Donald Duck's voice, showcasing his playful personality.
He had a special fondness for children, often spending time playing with them at the Shrine Center, which became a cherished part of his life. He was a member of the Al Menah Shrine where he participated in the Oriental Band casting smiles on everyone's face as he played his "Snake Charming Horn." Jackie was also a member of the West Nashville Masonic Lodge and a 32 degree Master Mason.
Jackie's love for Alabama football was unmatched, and he enjoyed travelling with his wife, Terri, visiting beautiful places like Panama City, Naples, Tampa, and Myrtle Beach. He found joy in sitting on the deck, watching deer, or taking leisurely drives in his Toyota Tundra. People-watching and indulging in seafood were just a few of his favorite pastimes. Jackie created numerous lasting memories with his family and friends.
Jackie's proudest accomplishment was his family. He cherished his relationships deeply, valuing each moment spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Terri L. Hale; his son, Donald Jackson Hale Jr. (Christine); daughters, Christiana Scott, Rachel Morris (Adam), Krista McClain (Jesse), and Kayla Davis; and his son, Covey Davis. Jackie is also survived by his sister, Diane Currey. He was a beloved Paw Paw to Aidan Hale, Michael Scott, Dillan Scott, Cody Morris, Adalee Morris, Daisie Davis, Katelynn Hopper, Kimberlynn McClain, Lucas Davis, Jacob Davis, Kaitlyn Stiltner, and Austin Stiltner.
