Cecil R. Ward

WARD, Cecil – of Davison, formerly of Lapeer, age 74, died Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Flint. Honoring Cecil's wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held 1PM Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, in Davison - 1523 N. Oak Rd. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Cecil was born February 23, 1949, in Hastings, Michigan, to the late Earl and Veryl (Streeter) Ward. He attended Pontiac Northern High School where he received his high school diploma with the class of 1968 and Mott Community College where he received his associate degree in 2002. Cecil proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked at General Motors for 34 years until his retirement in 2002. On August 30, 2002, Cecil married his best friend, Carla Kirby, and together they shared 20 years of marriage. Cecil and his wife attended the St. Dunstan Episcopal Church in Davison. He enjoyed collecting Hotwheel cars and going bass fishing. Cecil was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed.
Cecil is forever remembered by his beloved wife, Carla Ward; Stepdaughter, Jennifer (Mike) Marcin; Grandchildren: Nolan and Spencer Marcin, and one grandson; Siblings: Fred (Janet) Ward, Pat (Frank) Clark, Waneta Sanderson, and Richard Ward; In-laws: Sally Simmons, Berneice (Greg) Camp, and Lee (LaRae) Kirby; Nieces and nephews: Carrie (Ryan Cleveland) Simmons, Kyle (Jessica) Simmons, Leslie Camp, Jon Camp, and Eli Kirby; Great nieces and nephews: Brenna Christian and Lilly Simmons; Sister-in-law: Peggy Ward; Many beloved extended family members and wonderful friends. Cecil was preceded in death by his Parents; Brothers: Doug Ward and Joesph Ward; Brother-in-law, Gary Sanderson.
