Cecil Wayne Wehr, 79, of
Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Guthrie, on February 19, 1946, to Cecil William and Blanche Lee (Ruess) Wehr, Wayne was raised with a strong work ethic, a deep sense of loyalty, and a love for building and creating that lasted a lifetime. Wayne graduated from Guthrie High School in 1965.
A highly skilled welder, Wayne built a respected career known for precision, dedication, and craftsmanship. His steady hands and keen eye left their mark on countless projects. Wayne's career was spent with The Iron Workers Local 48 out of Oklahoma City and spanned over 40 years.
Beyond welding, his passion extended to the garage, where he built, showed, and raced hot rods. His pride and joy was a 1966 Corvette Stingray - a timeless classic that reflected his own character: strong, unique, and unforgettable. He loved loud motors and anything that went fast, whether on two wheels or four. Wayne also loved spending time with his car groups, especially the Flashbacks and Street Kings, where he shared stories, laughter, and a love for the open road.
On August 31, 1990, Wayne married the love of his life, Joyce, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. After their marriage, he joined her as owner and operator of Willoby Wholesale in Guthrie, where they sold A&M Feeds, car parts, and farm supplies. One of Wayne's favorite times of year was Easter, when the store came alive with baby chicks and rabbits in the front window - a tradition that delighted customers and brought him great joy.

Wayne's life was defined by hard work, simple joys, and the people he loved most. Whether under the hood of a hot rod, behind the welding torch, enjoying the roar of an engine on the open road, or gathered with friends in his car clubs, he lived each day with purpose and passion. His memory will forever ride alongside those who knew and loved him.
