George R. Welch, 80, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 5, 1944, in Guthrie, OK to Frank and Beulah (Hottinger) Welch.

George lived a life rooted in love, integrity, and service. A proud veteran, George served his country with honor. After his military service, he had a long and successful career in management at Seagate, where he worked for many years before retiring. George found joy in fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time with his family. His love for nature and animals was a consistent presence in his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Beulah; and his siblings, Lohman, Thomas, Paul, and Shirley.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Sue Welch; his son, Richard Welch and wife, Debbie Welch; his grandson, Justin Welch, and wife, Karen; three cherished great-grandsons, Chad, Luke, and Seth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was loved by many, and a true gentleman in life. He will be deeply missed. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice, in George's honor.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday September 26, 2025 at Smith Memorial Chapel. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 N. 1st Street, Guthrie, OK.

There will be no visitation.
