Cecil Ray Wright went to his heavenly home on November 4, 2024.
He was born in Robstown, Texas to Earl Virgil Wright and Willie Queen Jones on December 26, 1932.
After graduating from Robstown High School, he went to further his education at Tarlton State College in Texas and then in Texas A & I Kingsville but had to put it on hold when he got drafted into the United States Navy.
He served his country from 1955 to 1957, after his completion of duty to his country, he came back home where he helped his dad and brother Bill in farming. After the passing of his father he and his younger brother Bill started Wright Farms and farmed together for over 50 years.
He also served in the city council in Robstown, Texas and was the director of the Petronila Coop Grain.
He loved to travel, fly, golf, and was a great tennis player in high school.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Rivera; his parents; his sister, Betty Bates and brother in law, Buddy Bates; his brothers, Wayne Wright and Billy Earl Wright; nephew, Jeffrey Lee Wright and grandson, Ernesto Carreon Jr.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Emery; sons, Wayne Wright and Kyle Wright Tony (Claudia) Rivera, Isaac (Irene) Rivera; sister in laws, Peggy Wright and Josie Campos; brothers in laws, Serafin (Tina) Sanchez, Richard (Marinna) Sanchez, Robert (Adelida) Dominguez, and his favorite niece, Molly Bates, and nephew, Randy (Karen) Wright; granddaughters, Miranda, Maegan, Toni, Marizabel, Lorena Rivera and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Cecil Ray Wright will be held on Thursday November 7, 2024 from 4-5 pm for family and 5-7 pm for the public at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral Service to be held Friday November 8, 2024 at Grace Methodist Church in Calallen/Corpus Christi, TX at 4 pm. Followed by a sunset burial at Memorial Park Cemetery FM1889.
