Cecile K. Watts, 99, passed away on September 23, 2023, in Brady, Texas. She was born on October 25, 1923, in Santa Anna, Texas to David and Zetha Thomas.
A graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery at 600 N. Porter St, Lampasas, Texas on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 10 am.
Cecile grew up in Trickham, Texas and graduated from Santa Anna High School in 1941. Cecile married Carroll Watts on May 2, 1942, in Santa Anna. They moved to Lampasas, Texas in 1948 and built their life with their children Sue and Randy.
Cecile loved to travel with her husband and friends and spend time with her family. She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lampasas and served as a Deacon and Treasurer for many years. She volunteered with many organizations and was a mentor to several students in Lampasas schools. She was also an excellent artist and loved to paint landscapes and wildflowers.
Cecile was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll, and parents, David and Zetha Thomas.
She is survived by her children, Sue (Carl) Roe of Brady, Randy (Jan) Watts of Austin; her grandchildren, Tommy, Rusty, Cheryl, and Max; and her great-grandchildren, Megan, Rebecca, Mason, Pacie, and Samantha.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Presbyterian Children's Home, South Austin located at 5920 W. William Cannon Drive, Bldg 3 - Suite 100, Austin, Texas, 78749. Condolences may be left on Cecile's online guest book at www.sneedfuneralchapel.com/obituaries
