Cecilia "Nee Nee" Ahern

Cecilia "Nee Nee" Oneita Ahern, 79, widow of William "Bill" Ahern, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born November 22, 1943, in Versailles, Kentucky to the late William and Lucille Rice Finneran, Sr. Nee Nee was a graduate of Versailles High School and retired from Citizens Commerce Bank after many years of employment. She was also a longtime member of St. Leo Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Agnes Minton, and William Finneran, Jr.
Nee Nee will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kelly (Dean) Lavy, Doha, Qatar, Bill (Shannon) Ahern, Memphis, Tennessee, grandchildren, Morgan (Ben) Ferguson, Lexington, Olivia Ahern, Memphis, Logan Ahern, Memphis, and her beloved dog, "Sampson".
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Friday, June 23, 2023 at St. Leo Catholic Church, Father Chris Clay officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery where pallbearers will be Bill Ahern, Dean Lavy, Bob Blakenship, Bones Webber, Heath Dotson, Ben Ferguson, Justice Webber, and Logan Ahern. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her bridge club. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Leo Catholic Church, 295 Huntertown Road, Versailles, KY 40383.
