In Loving Memory of Cecilia Anh Tran Vuong
April 16, 1937 – June 2, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and boundless love that we announce the passing of Cecilia Anh Tran Vuong, who departed this life on June 2, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, at the age of 88. Anh was a woman of enduring strength, deep faith, and a heart full of unconditional love.
Born on April 16, 1937, in Bac Phan, China, to Ca Thi Huynh and Thanh Trieu Vuong, Anh grew up with a strong sense of duty and responsibility. From a young age, she worked tirelessly to help care for her parents, a devotion to family that defined her entire life.
In her journey through life, Anh married her beloved husband, To-Tai Luong Nguyen, with whom she built a home filled with warmth, love, and resilience. Though To-Tai passed away in 1992, Anh carried his memory with her in every act of love she gave to their family.
After moving to Cam Mau, Vietnam in 1960-a city nestled by the sea, alive with fishermen and small businesses-Anh built a life of humble industry and unwavering spirit. She lived through the turmoil of the Vietnam War, always prioritizing the well-being of her family. In 2001, with the sponsorship of her son Ngoc, Anh immigrated to Texas, where she spent her final decades surrounded by loved ones.
A true matriarch, Anh worked hard raising pigs and chickens to support her family. She was a devoted homemaker who found joy in the simple things-caring for her grandchildren, cooking delicious traditional meals, repairing clothes with care, and treating herself to modest beauty salon visits. She lived simply, without attachment to material things, and gave generously to her Vietnamese community.
Anh was a woman of faith-a devout Catholic who loved Jesus Christ and lived each day with honesty, humility, and compassion. She was shy yet spirited, funny in the quietest ways, and deeply committed to her family. Her hands told stories of a life spent giving-cooking, nurturing, building, and embracing.
She is survived by her loving children: Phuong Nguyen, Tran Nguyen, Ngoc Nguyen, Phuoc Nguyen, Hung Nguyen, Hanh Nguyen, and Duc Nguyen; twelve adoring grandchildren (8 boys and 4 girls), and four cherished great-grandchildren (2 boys and 2 girls). Her legacy lives on in every heart she touched, every meal shared, every story passed down, and every prayer whispered in her name.
Anh Tran Vuong's life was one of quiet dignity, enduring strength, and immeasurable love. She will be remembered not for riches or accolades, but for the warmth of her presence, the sacrifices she made, and the profound way she loved. She leaves behind a family bound by the values she lived by-faith, humility, loyalty, and the deep, enduring power of love.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
