Cedith Norwood

Cedith Kirby Norwood, 88, passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2025, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Belmont, NC. She was born on February 18th, 1937, in Catawba Heights, Gaston County, the daughter of the late Fred Lee and Grace Myrtle Kirby. A graduate of Mount Holly High School, Cedith exemplified dedication and a remarkable work ethic as Credit Manager for Kimbrell's Furniture for 30+ years. She was a member of Tuckaseege Baptist Church in Mount Holly.

Cedith was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Horace Norwood along with her four brothers, Joe, Seth, Basil, and Jimmy Kirby, and four sisters, Dorothy Orren, Juanita Sipes, Becky Wentz and Sylvia Wooten. She is survived by her three sons, Bobby Dean Norwood (significant other Jan), Terry Dale Norwood and wife Ann, Shannon Wray Norwood and wife Rina, four grandsons, Justin Norwood and wife Jinisha, Tyler Norwood and wife Roxanne, Caleb Godsey, and Micah Godsey.

Cedith made everyone around her feel accepted and valued. She selflessly gave of her time and resources to her church and anyone in need. She will be remembered for her kindness and her ability to make others feel at ease with her warmth and humor.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm at Tuckaseege Baptist Church, 511 Tuckaseege Rd., Mount Holly, NC 28120. The funeral service will be held at the church, beginning at 2:30 pm, followed by a private graveside service. Pastor Jason Marlowe will officiate.
