Celesta Lou Krietzer passed away September 28, 2025 at River Pointe Health Campus. Celesta was born April 8, 1936 to Aubrey and Mary Cates in Nebo, KY. She graduated from Nebo High School in 1954. Celesta then came to Evansville where she graduated from Lockyear Business College.

Celesta met her husband-to-be, Jerry Krietzer, and they were married on December 29, 1957. They farmed in the area for 64 years with their two sons, James Michael Krietzer and John Andrew Krietzer before retiring in 2020.

Celesta is survived by her husband, Jerry Krietzer; son, John Andrew Krietzer; sister, Sharon Harris of Madisonville, KY; and daughter-in-law, Hae Krietzer. In addition to her parents, Celesta was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Krietzer; sisters, Naomi Knox and Rosetta Crask; and brothers, Doug Cates and Ruby Cates.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. Visitation will continue from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the funeral home where a Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Alan Jackson officiating.

Entombment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or the Evansville Rescue Mission, 1400 Professional Boulevard, Evansville, IN 47714.

The family would like to thank our daughter-in-law, Hae Krietzer, the doctors, nurses, assistants and hospice personnel for the loving care Celesta received.
