Chad Lund left this world and began his journey home in the early morning hours of May 13, 2025. His passing came quite unexpectedly, although he had battled Muscular Dystrophy for many years.
Chad was born on August 27, 1978, in Glasgow, Montana to Guy and Doreen [Carlson] Lund joining his brother Travis. He began life living at St. Marie, North of Glasgow. Chad and Travis grew up as best friends as well as brothers. Up until Travis's passing, they spent as much time as possible together.
After Guy and Doreen Divorced, Grandma and Grandpa helped raise Chad on a small acreage outside of town that gave Chad the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Chad had a special bond with Grandma and Grandpa that lasted a lifetime.
Chad was a social person. There were very few places he went that he didn't know somebody. In school he met many lifetime friends and maintained those friendships. He went to school in Miles City and Dickinson, N.D. and graduated from Miles City.
During his High School years and several years beyond he worked for the hot lunch program. He loved that job with all the kids around and they loved him. Chad did this until he was no longer able to do the lifting required for the job. He then went to work in the recycling program at EMI. He continued at EMI until his passing. He couldn't do as much as time progressed, but he was there every day. As his supervisors and co-workers will attest, Chad had a little bit of a stubborn streak.
Chad attempted to live on his own for a while but this proved to be a little too much for him so he moved to EMI's Hafla group home where he resided the past several years. He was able to make more friends there with the staff and fellow residents. The highlight of his day was to look up trivia on the internet and share it with everybody.
Almost 17 years ago Lori came into his life due to Guy and Lori getting married. With this, Chad gained a jokester in partnership. There wasn't much these two didn't come up with. All I will say about that is "MMMMMMMMMMMMMM". Lori will know the punchline. With this marriage Chad gained five new siblings and their spouses and eventually 13 nieces and nephews.
Covid was hard on Chad because he and Travis were limited on their contact although we would get them to the park to visit once in a while, (at a distance).
Chad was preceded in death by his mother; brother Travis; Grandma (Lorraine Lund) & Grandpa (George Lund); Grandmother (Edith Ebert); Aunt Maxine Leatherberry; Uncle Al Leatherberry; cousins Dixie and Leroy Leatherberry; Uncles Carl and Claude Carlson as well as Aunt Debbie Carlson. He was also preceded by a great niece Presley Meeks.
Chad is survived by his dad Guy, stepmom Lori, sister Donika Schrauger, step siblings Brandi (Jeremy) Lang, Dave (Katie) Freohlich, Amanda Jadamali, Cassie (Nick) Horob and Amber (Dustin) Hodgson as well as thirteen nieces and nephews.
