Chad Layne Winters, 54, of Fort Dodge, IA, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Per Chad's request, there will be no services. He also requested no cards or flowers. He did request for anyone that knew him to raise a glass and toast him.
Chad is survived by his son: Brandon Lloyd; his brother: Robb, and many friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Andrea Schmeling; grandparents: Max Schmeling, Phyllis Schmeling and Lena Grant.
Chad enjoyed history, traveling, watching the University of Iowa Football & Wrestling, the Chicago Cubs and the 85 Bears. He could always make a short story long and especially enjoyed his time with his friends.

Hard to believe it's been over a year already. I remember going to 4th st for happy hour and did not tell the wife where we were going. Chad just got out of his truck and was walking along the cars and she says don't hit that guy and I said I won't, he's my buddy......

I only knew Chad for a year or so I felt WE've knew each other forever the hours of talking PHILOSOPHY POLITICS and of course our SARCASTUC comments that only we understood I will miss you my FRIEND PROUD TO HAVE CALLED YOU MY FRIEND
