Chadwick Marcus Jessee, age 53, a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend of many acquaintances, sadly left us on a Sacred Sunday after a lengthy battle with sickness. The day was October 27, 2024. The day was beautiful, serene and peaceful. Fall color and warm sunlight, embraced his passing. It was as though he was sending a message of the place, he had left us for.
Chad was born on a "Thursday", June 10, 1971, in Richlands, Virginia. His determined personality was foreshadowed even before his birth. Spending ten months in his mother's womb and keeping his mom in labor for fifteen hours, reflected he would never get in a hurry for anything. Never wanting to miss out, he was determined to experience every second that he could squeeze out of a minute with anyone. He loved people. It could be seen in his face, everywhere he went. He never knew a stranger.
Chad was a 1989 graduate of Honaker High School. He was recognized as Outstanding (in a field) Agricultural Student of the Year. He pursued his own career, being self-employed in excavating and pressure washing. He later worked in trucking, owning his own company which he truly loved. Big Rigs and Fords trucks defined him. His happiest time was behind the wheel of a truck.
Anyone who knew Chad was greeted with his warm smile, and big heart that he proudly wore on his sleeve for the world to see. His lighthearted laughter and his willingness to always lend a helping hand was a constant in how he lived his life. His personality shown like a bright light. You could not help but to enjoy being in his presence. Chad was tenderhearted, kind to all, and believed in owning his own mistakes.
Chad had a great love for God. The faith and testimony of his dad, Bernard Jessee, influenced Chad's own personal faith and walk with God. Chad would often say, I always stay positive because I have God on my side. Next only to his love for God, was his love for his parents. His mother, Nina, was his best friend.
Chad was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee "Bernard" Jessee and his grandparents, Edd and Iolet Maxfield.
Survivors include his mother, Nina Harrison; stepfather, Joe Harrison; sister, Chloa Eileene Allison and husband Kris "KC"; brothers, Ricky Joe Harrison and Jeremy McGee; niece, Nicole Boothe; nephews, Nathan Boothe and Quincy Breeding, and daughter; Krista Jessee.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Ray, Danny Musick, Billy Maxfield, Danny Triplett, Daniel Boothe, Nathan Boothe, and Quincy Breeding. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Maxfield and Kevin Maxfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday after 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

I met Chad long ago, working at a clothing store and then at Damascus Stop and Save. I was always happy to see Chad and he always had a warm big hug ready, Each time he came to visit. My husband and I are truly saddened to hear about his Loss. My condolences to his Mother, as He spoke of her all the time! I will miss him stopping by to see us and hearing his about his journeys... I had recently just seen Chad a week fews ago, so it was a real bummer to hear about his passing. My prayer and Condolences to his Family! May God bring you comfort I'll have to try and dig out photos I have of him, and find a way to send to his Family.
