Charlene Gail Copperthite, 74, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2023 and is now in the arms of the Lord. She was born on September 16, 1949, in Niagara Falls, New York, the daughter of the late Charles and Geneva Thompson. Charlene graduated from Madonna High in Niagara Falls, NY, married right after graduation the love of her life, Robert Copperthite, and had 3 children Melissa, Jamie, and Denise. She lived half her life in New York and moved to Florida to be closer to her parents and siblings in 1999. Charlene was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church, she was a member of VFW AUXILLARY POST 2391, and she was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Copperthite, daughters Melissa and Denise Copperthite, and brother Stephen Thompson.
Charlene is survived by her son James (Dawn) Copperthite, grandchildren Renee Copperthite and Bryan Copperthite, siblings, Gloria (Rick) Worley, David Thompson, Larry (Cheryl) Thompson, Annette (Ken) Dean, sister-in-law Sarah Thompson, numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends that she cherished.
Her family and friends will miss her dearly but have peace in knowing she is reunited with her husband and daughters. Visitation will be on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Hwy St. Augustine, Florida 32084. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 9:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 6175 Datil Pepper Rd, St., Augustine, Florida 32086. Burial will follow at San Lorenzo Cemetery, 1635 US 1 South, St Augustine, Fl 32086.
