In Loving Memory of Ondina Gracia 1941-2025 Ondina Gracia, lovingly known as "Abuelita" by friends and family, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Saint Augustine, Florida, at the age of 84. Born on March 23, 1941, in Placetas, Cuba, Ondina brought light, warmth, and boundless generosity to everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her. Throughout her remarkable life, Ondina embodied genuine positivity. Her ever-present smile, infectious kindness, and loving heart defined her presence in any room. No matter the situation, she was always willing to help, often at a moment's notice. Ondina was quick to offer a comforting word or a helping hand, shaping the lives of those around her with her unwavering generosity. Ondina's adventurous spirit led her to travel extensively through Europe-a testament to her curiosity and zest for life. Among her many accomplishments, she fondly remembered learning to ride a horse at 56 years old, competing in equestrian events, and fulfilling a lifelong dream of purchasing her own ranch. Her days were filled with joy as she cared for her beloved animals, rarely seen without a project, or being a gentle presence in her barn. Family was Ondina's greatest treasure. Preceded in death by Ricardo Gracia to whom she was married to for 35 years, she took immense pride in her role as a mother to Jose Gonzalez and Daughter in law Oksana Gonzalez, and nothing thrilled her more than spending time with her cherished grandsons Ricky and Tony. Whether at the beach, immersed in arts and crafts, or spending time with her many animals, Ondina's passion for life was most evident in these moments shared with her loved ones. Devoted not only to her family but also to her community, Ondina gave her talents and time to organizations close to her heart, including Turning Point at Calvary Church, Crescent Beach Baptist Church, and the ASPCA, reflecting her deep faith and compassion for all living things. A visitation/viewing will be held on Saturday, August 9, at St John's Family Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, immediately followed by a service from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Friends, family, and all whose lives Ondina touched are welcome to come and celebrate her extraordinary life. Although Ondina has left this earthly home, she has gone home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.
