Charlene Green was born October 12, 1951. She was the first child born to loving parents Charles Green and Jessie D. Sly.
Charlene was married to Richard Young for a total of 56 years, together they created a legacy of four children. Anthony Green, Allen Green, Richard Jr, and Darla Young.
In Charlene's early days she worked in housekeeping and janitorial services. In her spare time she enjoyed taking various trips with her husband, she also loved taking her grandkids to different events around Seattle.
She found joy in the act of caring for children so much that in the year of 2000 she adopted her very own grandchildren Tamika and Tia Green.
In 2003, Charlene and her family joined Paradise Baptist Church and became dedicated members. Later in 2006 Charlene was inspired to open the doors of her home once again and became a foster parent. She and her husband fostered over 40+ children from 2006-2011. In conclusion of being a foster parent Charlene and her husband adopted Zana & Joseph young and both Cousins Zechariah & Carey Allen Hayes.
In her final days she enjoyed spending time with family whether that was watching her favorite TV shows, dancing around the living room to her favorite old school music or cooking her favorite southern meals.
Charlene was called home on the morning of December 22nd, 2023 surrounded by family. She was a loving, strong, charismatic individual who will forever be cherished and remembered by her husband Richard young, all 4 children and a plethora and grandchildren, great grands and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Green, mother Lessie Sly, sister Pauline Green, and Joanne Joe.
