Charlene Lou Ray, 73. Of Morrisonville, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at her residence. She was born on August 3, 1952, to the late Charlie Teter and Norma Jean Lockart.

Charlene worked as a caregiver for many years and loved taking care of her patients, just as she did her family. She enjoyed studying genealogy and learning about her family history. In her free time Charlene loved to express her creativity through crafting and creating floral arrangements. Above all, she found immense joy in spending time with her loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter: Casey Beard (Mike) of Taylorville, IL; son: Jeremy Beard of Taylorville, IL; grandchildren: Cassidy Beard and Lennon Clark both of Taylorville; as well as her siblings: Lorretta Law (Carol) of Owaneco, IL; Carol Ann Porter of Taylorville, IL; and Stan Brookshire.

In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Jackson and Beverly Folks.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Sutton Memorial Home in Taylorville. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Charlene's family to assist with funeral expenses.
