November 6, 1943-April 20, 2022
Charlene was the daughter of Onnie L. and Ruby G. Smith of Las Cruces NM. Preceding her in death were Harry E. Reed, also her son Warren D. Reed and her granddaughter Ruby Ann Reed. She is survived by Darren S. Reed his children Tessie L. Gorman, Tyler G. and HaleyReed their daughter Adelaide M. Reed Warren's wife Karlene, their children Kristopher W. Reed, Sarah L. and Ronnie Fleming, their son Kalizter Warren Fleming and Dillon O. Reed, Christepher B. Reed his children Aleisha M. Reed, her daughter Jazzlynn M. Reed and Logan C. Reed, Todd E. Reed, Gary W. And Ladonnia A. Reed and their sons Zachary T. Reed and William T. Reed.
Charlene Married Harry on June 29, 1962 and soon moved to Germany where he was stationed. After his release from the military they traveled with the two oldest sons as migrant workers following the lettuce harvest. They would live in Las Cruces Nm, Stroud Ok, finally settling in Hatch NM. Charlene worked for Sharp Oil Co. as a bookkeeper in Hatch for 15 years before retiring.
Charlene was proud of her sons, often bragging on them and later on her grandchildren. She would tell people that she had the best behaved family.
She was known as Charlene, Char, Aunt Char, Aunt Gertie (A select few were able to call her this) Granny and most importantly Mom.
Memorial will be at the Bosque behind Mom's house at 27,200 north highway 185 Hatch NM on May 8 at 2:00 pm.
