It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charlene J. Van Beuren, 93, of Shallotte, NC, who passed peacefully Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in Coastal Pointe Assisted Living, Shallotte, NC. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandma and a cherished member of the community. Born in New York City, NY, on May 27, 1932, Charlene was a daughter of the late Charles J. and Adele Trizinski Weinmann. Charlene was a long-time member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Bullville, NY. She loved her family "with all her heart and soul" and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved music and would sing all day long. She would often make up lyrics to make people smile. Charlene worked for the local paper, the Times Herald Record as an advertisement designer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John Van Beuren; a son, Glenn Gallantz, and a daughter, Jill Benison. Surviving are a daughter, Lisa Soderblom and husband Art from Calabash, NC; a son, John Van Beuren and partner Debbie of Circleville, NY; two sisters, Arlene Clancy of Westbury, NY, Patricia Gildea of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Charles Weinmann of Northampton, MA; six grandchildren Jennifer, David. Michael, Bryan, Shawn and Brooke and four great grandchildren, Andrew, Blake, Blair and Kai. Visitation will be held on August 8th from 11-1pm at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, in Middletown, NY, with burial following at Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, NY. A celebration of life will be held in Shallotte at a later date. Because of her love of animals, the family respectfully requests that donations be directed to your local ASPCA or non-profit animal shelter.
