Charles Amaker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. - Springfield on Apr. 16, 2025.
Charles "Chip" F. Amaker Jr. passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on December 24, 1960, in Stamford, Connecticut, Chip was the beloved son of the late Charles F. Amaker and Shirley A. Amaker.
Chip proudly attended Weaver High School, where he played football and built lifelong friendships. As a young man, he found joy and discipline through martial arts and developed a lifelong passion for music. Ever the curious and clever soul, Chip also had a natural talent for fixing computers and cable boxes-skills he was always willing to use to help others.
He was known for his big personality, quick wit, and deep love for his family. At every gathering, Chip was the life of the party-bringing laughter, music, and unforgettable stories. His presence lit up every room, and his love for his family was fierce and unwavering.
Chip was preceded in death by his daughters Kaleema Amaker-Cordell and Rose Amaker, mother and father, Shirley and Charles Amaker, his sister Renee Amaker, his brothers Timothy Mallory and Dennis Mallory, and brother-in-law Gregory Scott.
He is survived by his sons Victor Amaker, Dyron Briggs, Nathan Amaker, and Charles "Pops" Amaker III (wife Jenna Amaker), and his daughters Tawanda Amaker-Ameh and Zyana Amaker, his beautiful 8 grandchildren, his sisters Janice Amaker-Scott and Sharon Mallory, and his brother Ivan Amaker. Chip will be forever loved by his lifelong best friend Debra Amaker. His memory will always be cherished by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Chip's vibrant spirit, sense of humor, and big heart will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
