Charles "Bill" McDaniel, Sr. Obituary
Charles "Bill" William McDaniel, Sr. 98, of Hanahan, South Carolina, husband of the late Iris Coraleene Mathis McDaniel, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 17, 2025. His funeral service will be held Monday, April 21, 2025 at Holmes Avenue Baptist Church 4602 Durant Ave, North Charleston, SC at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park 7113 Rivers Ave. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 20, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Northwoods Chapel.
Bill was born June 3, 1926 in Lake City, South Carolina, son of the late General Lee McDaniel and the late Cora Gaskins McDaniel. He was a member of Holmes Avenue Baptist Church of North Charleston, SC. Bill served as World War II Veteran in the United States Marine Corps and he retired from Westvaco where he was an active member in their Retirement Club. He loved the mountains, hiking, church, but most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by children: Charles William McDaniel, Jr. (Linda) of North Charleston, Charlotte I. Spagnolia (John) of Hanahan, SC; grandchildren: Joey Spagnolia (Tanecia), Christi Marvel (Bryan), Cheri Mateo (Angel), Jason Spagnolia (Alli), Katie Osepchook (AJ), Chase McDaniel (Rachel); great grandchildren: Bryan Marvel, Jr., Dylan Marvel, Abby Spagnolia, Grayce Marvel, Ella Spagnolia, Alex Mateo, Mackenzie Ponte, Tucker Osepchook, Claire Mateo, Sierra Spagnolia and Thea Spagnolia. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Tonya McDaniel and seven siblings.
Memorials may be made to Holmes Avenue Baptist Church 4602 Durant Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405 in his honor.
