Charles Walter Bogan, 92, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Charles was born on April 9, 1933, in Paragould, where he dedicated his life to his community and his family.
A proud graduate of Paragould High School in the early 1950s, Charles's working life began operating local skating rinks across northeast Arkansas. He later served for a time with the highway department before finding his true vocation within the Paragould School District. For over thirty years, Charles worked as a custodian and devoted bus driver, lovingly transporting the school's children, including the memorable winters spent driving Doc Paynter's basketball teams to their away games.
Charles was a man who cherished the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in fishing, camping, and traveling with his beloved travel trailer, embracing the beauty of the great outdoors. A dedicated member of East Side Baptist Church (now Harvest Baptist Church), his faith was central to his life, guiding his actions and relationships in his community.
Charles is survived by his brother, Mike Bogan; step-sons, Chris Paul and Brad Paul; and four step grandchildren, who, along with extended family and friends, will remember him for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Humphrey and Claudia Knight Bogan; wife, Mary Bogan; and sisters, Juanita Burr, Colleen Wisiskie, Montez Gore, Louise Bogan, and Wilma Paynter.
