Charles Ray Bonnard

Charles Ray Bonnard (sweet Brother), son of Earnestine and Walter Bonnard Sr., was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma in 1951. The family moved to California where Charles was educated and graduated from Monterey High School in 1970. Upon graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army from 1970-1997 receiving full service retirement. During his 20 year service, he achieved 4 medals: The Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious (MSM) Medal for outstanding service achievement. He also received 2 ribbons, the Army Service ribbon and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon as well as a Marksman Badge. After leaving the military, Charles was employed with the United States Postal Service where he retired in 2014.
Charles was a faithful member of the Greater Victory Temple for many years. He was so dedicated that he would walk to church from Marina for service and was on time. He sang in the choir, served in the kitchen cooking and he helped in keeping the sanctuary clean. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. He was a soldier in the U.S. Army and he was a soldier in God's army. –Blessed Be the Name of the Lord.
Preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings and two grandchildren.
Charles is survived by two sisters, Vernia Eva Bonnard and Eveyln Bonnard; five children, Leatrice Sampson, Michael Davis, Lavonda Bonnard, Charles Bonnard Jr. and Robert Binnard; six granddaughters and one grandson' two great grandsons, Octaviun Tye Edd and McCoy Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A viewing will be held on December 18, 2024 from 10am-11am followed by the funeral at 11am at Greater Victory Temple, 1620 Broadway Ave. Seaside, CA 93955.
