Charles Barnett "Bunny" Boswell, 89, passed away August 8, 2024.
A native of Travelers Rest, son of the late Rufus and Alta Barnett Boswell, he was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of Bond's Furniture. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he served as a former deacon, a member of the Bailey Masonic Lodge, and a Shriner.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Gail Cooke Boswell of the home; two daughters, Vickey Boswell Cook (Tommy) of Anderson and Sonja Boswell Rochester (Carrol) of Greer; a son, Charles "Chuck" Barnett Boswell, Jr. of Greer; six grandchildren, Mackenzie James, Elizabeth Gilliam (Brandon), Taylor Cook (Ashley), Daniel Pittman (McCayla), Matt Rochester (Megan), and Allison Anders (Ryan); six great-grandchildren, Bentley Cook, Savannah Cook, Cason Pittman, Ezra Anders, Eliza Anders, and Bear Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Boswell was predeceased by two brothers, Ray Boswell and J.L. Boswell, and a sister, Annelle Rickard.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Bob Atwell, Dr. Gene Lockaby, and Dr. Drew Hines. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Sistare, Mitchell Whiteside, Bobby Young, Mike Bullock, Eddie Powell, and Lem Dillard.
Honorary escorts will be past and present members of the McFadden Sunday School Class, members of the Bailey Masonic Lodge, and the Hardee's gang: Mitchell Whiteside, Bobby Young, Jack Hollifield, Ed Chappel, Ken Emory, and Ray Brewton.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2024, at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
Memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Foundation for The Future, 1300 Locust Hill Road, Greer, South Carolina 29651.
