Charles Wayne Boyce

Charles Wayne Boyce, 89, of Rockport passed from this life on April 12, 2024 at Wyngate Senior Living in Parkersburg after a brief illness. He was born August 31, 1934 to Charley and Mary "Etta" Thompson Boyce on Maul Camp Road in Jackson County, WV.
He was a farmer all of his life, raising cattle and harvesting tobacco for many years. A family legacy passed on to his son, Tim. He was a mechanic at Viscose for a period of time and attended the Rockport Church of Christ.
He married his wife, Janet Gant Boyce, in December of 1957 until her death in 2017.
Surviving Charles are his three children, Tim Boyce (Patricia) of Ravenswood, Connie Boyce of Rockport, and Karen Thompson of Butler, PA; grandchildren, Noah Davis (Tonya) and Doreen Mitchell (JR) of Le Roy, WV, Ashley Gamble (Ian) and Corey Thompson of Butler, PA, and Eric and Jesse Boyce of Ravenswood; great-grandchildren, Macey, Cohen, and Licoln Gamble, and Jameson Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Dave Gant (Barb) and Sonny Gant (Charlotte) of Elizabeth; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Cecil, Lawrence, Truman, and Earl; five sisters, Garnet Thomas, Opal Miihlbach, Lillie Gates, Gladys Boyce, and Faye Hanson; two sons-in-law, Duane Davis and Rich Thompson; and a brother-in-law, Jim Gant.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Minister J.D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Limestone Cemetery in Rockport, WV. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
