With heavy hearts we announce the death of our beloved husband and father Charles Brod. Charles, or Chuck as most people called him, passed away on December 5, 2023 at the age of 78 after an 18 month battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully in his home in Mesa, AZ, next to the love of his life and wife of 50 years.
Charles was born to parents M.L. Brod and Cleo Brod (Cureton) on November 29, 1945 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Judy Brod; 3 children Stephanie Kelsey, David Brod and Darlene Weith; 5 grandchildren Kevin and Jason Kelsey, Cailtin, Conner and Charlie Weith; sisters Patsy Padgett, Wanda Boardman and Donna Brooks and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
While serving his country in the United States Air Force, Chuck came to know his Jesus. He dedicated his life to being a faithful follow and servant of Jesus. After marrying the love of his life and starting a family, this calling led him and Judy to join SIM, an evangelical mission that would lead them overseas as missionaries. Chuck spent the next 30+ years discipling and serving the people of Liberia, Bolivia, and Nigeria. He also travelled to other countries with Equipping the Saints Ministry for discipleship training. His greatest desire was for others to know his Lord and Savior. His faithfulness is witnessed by those around the world who knew him. After retiring from the mission field, he and Judy made their home in Mesa, AZ, attended Red Mountain Community Church and continued to minister to others.
Charles will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ on December 13, 2023 with a private family ceremony. A celebration of life service will be held at Red Mountain Community Church on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at 10am.
Our hope and comfort remains in the Lord. We know Charles is in the presence of our Savior for eternity.
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:17-18
"For those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31

Charles was a special friend to our families during our growing up years. Many good memories and fun days. Always a great friend with Godly values. Prayers for his family. We know he will be greatly missed.

Charles had a special place in my heart. On one of our senior trips we rented a tandem bike and rode all around Petit Jean Mountain roads in Arkansas. I think he did most of the work. I´m proud of the man he became. My condolences to his family.
