Dear Scotia, Family, and Friends,
Feel the love and collective embrace of community. Charlie Brown is loved by all who knew him.
I first met CB when accepted into the ISU Upward Bound Program. He taught us and modeled dignity, grace, compassion, grooming, manners, respect, how to dress, and so much more. I later became an ISU Upward Bound dorm counselor.
CB had become Upward Bound assistant director. My learning continued. We had many inspiring conversations.
We performed in a musical group during the Upward Bound summer talent show. CB was an outstanding pianist.
I continued to learn from CB throughout my years at ISU. CB was an intellectual leader and master teacher.
Peace and blessings to Scotia, family, and friends. Thanks for sharing CB with all of us at ISU.
Keep the Faith.

I´m saddened to hear of Charlie Browns death. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to his loving wife, children and family
Charlie and I attended middle school #87 and four years at Crispus Attucks/Indianapolis. Enjoyed his upbeat personality, never saw him angry or negative about life.
Ironically my son Brandon many years later when he attended ISU, met Charlie and shared the meeting with me. Brandon experienced the same kind upbeat personality I knew from CB.
He will be missed but not forgotten and we will meet again at resurrection my friend

When I was in 5th or 6th grade, I was doing a project for National History Day on the Civil Rights Movement. Someone directed me to Mr. Brown and the AACC (as it was known then). I went just to look around, and was surprised that Mr. Brown was there (being the important man he is), and invited me into his office where we had a great talk for about a half hour. That talk was transformative to a young, white male from a not-particularly-progressive background. Here we are almost 40 years later, and I remember that talk and his kindness, and I treasure the fruits of it.
