Charles Henry Bryson Sr., born June 26, 1944, in Silva, North Carolina, to Henry Noah and Mary Lela Bryson, peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and community spirit.

Charles spent his early years in Silva before moving to Columbus, Ohio, where he graduated from North High School. He attended NC State University and played basketball before transferring to Jacksonville University to continue his athletic journey. Following college, Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy from April 28, 1966, to April 6, 1971, working as a stock control clerk and receiving an honorable discharge.

After his military service, Charles co-founded Bryson Brothers Masonry with his brother Vaughn. Through hard work and craftsmanship, he helped shape the Columbus skyline, building numerous structures and working tirelessly in his trade until the age of 77.

Charles was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, golfing, and playing basketball with the Columbus Oldtimer League. Known as a mentor and a friend, Charles touched countless lives with his wisdom, generosity, and unwavering support.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Bryson; his sister, Alberta; and his brothers, Vaughn, Roy, and Kenneth. Charles is survived by his brother, John; his children, Kimberly (Avery) Stanley and Charles H. Bryson Jr. (Aloma); his eight grandchildren-Aaron, Jocelyn, Troy, Justice, Myles, Charles III, Chancelor, and Chase; many great-grandchildren; his special friend Viola Porter; and his "work son," Eddie.

Charles will be fondly remembered for his warmth, integrity, and the positive impact he made on his family, friends, and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
