Newcomer Funeral Home - Northeast Chapel - ColumbusHarry E. Curtis, age 75, of Worthington, Ohio passed away on March 2, 2026. Harry was born on December 2, 1950 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Shelt and Mary Kathryn Curtis.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-dad, Merle "Huzzy" Neal, brothers, Dennis Ray (Nancy), Shelton Wayne, Charles Edgar, Stanley Thomas, sisters, Anna Louise, Brinda, Joyce, and beloved grandson, Preston.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Melissa (Chris) Blythe, sisters, Jackie Curtis, Marsheleen (Carl) Curtis-Kuno, mother of his daughter, Rose Curtis, bonus daughter, Carrie McDonald, grandchildren, Brittany, Jenna (Taylor), Evan, Jasmine, Jordan, Jayden, great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jade, Eleena, sister's-in-law, Cindy, Vicki, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Harry retired from the Worthington School District. His warm spirit and infinite compassion were evident in every interaction, as he had a unique ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger but rather making friends wherever he went.
Harry honorably served as an Army Veteran, dedicating himself to his country through two tours in Vietnam.
Harry was a man of many passions. He found joy in the wind on his face while riding his Harley, the freedom of the open road echoing his own zest for life. He had a profound connection with nature and spent countless hours horseback riding. Harry also delighted in the thrill of deer hunting, each outing bringing with it not just a pursuit of sport but a deep appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors.
A lover of music, Harry could often be found strumming his guitar and singing songs that brought joy to gatherings. His incredible talent as an artist shone through in his paintings and tattoos, showcasing his unique ability to capture emotions and stories on canvas and skin alike. Each piece he created was a testament to his creativity and depth, resonating with those who were fortunate enough to experience his work.
Harry dedicated himself to the intricate craft of leatherwork. His hands skillfully transformed raw leather into breathtaking pieces that included beautifully crafted belts, elegant purses, sturdy wallets, unique hat bands, functional gun holsters, and delicate bracelets. Each item he created carried a personal touch, a testament to his passion and commitment to the craft.
Harry's creations became cherished possessions for many, holding stories and memories that were beautifully woven into the leather itself. He often expressed that the joy of making these items was only surpassed by the happiness they brought to others. Whether it was a custom order for a special occasion or a thoughtful gift for a friend, Harry poured his heart into every piece he made, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched with his artistry.
Throughout his life, Harry touched many lives with his kindness, artistry, and the warmth of his spirit. His legacy of love, friendship, and creativity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. As we remember Harry "H-Bomb" E. Curtis, let us celebrate a life well-lived, marked by laughter, adventure, and a profound appreciation for the world around him.
He is loved by all and will be deeply missed.
