Charles B. "Bruce" Casey, a cherished husband, beloved family member, and respected veteran, passed away peacefully from natural causes attributed to age on April 3, 2024, in Beverly, Massachusetts. Born on February 4, 1938, in Danvers, Massachusetts, Bruce's life was marked by his humor, generosity, and intelligence.
Bruce graduated from Danvers High School and soon after proudly served his country as an Army Communications Operator in Italy. His time in the service left a lasting impression on him and instilled values of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life. After returning home, he dedicated many years as a Punch Press operator for the Shetland Corp. in Salem, MA, where his hard work and reliability were well-regarded by his colleagues and peers.
Bruce's love for his wife, Charlene A. (Harris) Casey, was evident to all who knew them. Their marriage of 59 years was a testament to their mutual respect and deep affection. Together, they navigated life's ups and downs with grace and humor. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Charlene, sisters-in-laws, Shirley Casey, Donnalynn Wucher and her husband Stuart, Jennifer Belanger and her husband George, his goddaughters, Amy Wucher and Rebecca Cherry and her husband Marcus. Also, several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and a sister-in law, Hazel Wilson. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers, David and Robert Casey, and sisters, Mary Casey, Mildred Powers, and Phyllis Clements.
An avid sports fan, Bruce's enthusiasm for his Massachusetts teams-the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins-was infectious. He enjoyed watching games and sharing his passion with friends and family. His sense of humor shone through in his love of playing cards, where he delighted in teaching the next generation the art of a playful cheat. Bruce also found solace in gardening, a hobby that allowed him to enjoy the outdoors and the simple pleasures of nurturing life. His love for animals was evident in the several dogs he and Charlene owned over the years, each one a cherished companion.
Those who knew Bruce will remember him for his quick wit and the laughter he brought to any gathering. His generosity was felt by many, often in quiet, unassuming ways. He had a sharp intellect, always ready with a fact or story that would enlighten or entertain.
As we reflect on Bruce's life, we are reminded of the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Bruce embodied this sentiment, leaving behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and love.
Bruce Casey's life was a journey filled with rich experiences, meaningful relationships, and heartfelt moments. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
As we bid farewell to Bruce, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of moments that will be cherished by his family and friends forever. His story is one of a life filled with purpose, laughter, and an unending capacity to give. Bruce's legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be remembered with fondness and admiration.

Uncle Bruce a loss to all who knew him. My family lived with the Casey family during World War Two as our Dad and uncle Dave Casey both served over seas during the war.
Bruce was like a big brother to my brother and myself during the war living at 345 Maple st. Many old memories from that time period. Mike Powers
