ALBANY- Charles E. “Chick” Burns, Jr., age 68, passed away surrounded by family after a long battle on April 10, 2025 at Albany Medical Center.

He was born in Albany, the son of the late Charles E. Sr. and Annie Burns.

Chick was a long time employee at Freihofer’s Bakery. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his wife, family and his fur babies (Hercules and Pansy Mae.)

Besides his fur babies, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Debra; children: Tiessia, Nasha, Marquez, John (Nafeesha) and Jose; grandson, Jahaziel; siblings: Glendora and Sabrina (Gary); father in law, John E. Martinez; sister in laws: Diana, Dolly (Sally) and Denise; and brother in law Dana (Jenny). Also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing hours on Tuesday April 15, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service following from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chick’s memory may be made to the Albany Medical Center or St. Peter’s Hospital Oncology Departments.
