Charles (Chuck) Clifford Pokorny lived a full and joyful life until his passing on May 31, 2023, at the age of 82. Chuck met and married the love of his life, Maxine Marie McLean in 1962, at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Omaha, NE and together they built a beautiful family with four children, Diane (Lowell) Johnson, Chuck Pokorny, Mike Pokorny, and the late Patty Pokorny. Chuck was a doting grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Chuck and Maxine would have been celebrating 61 years of marriage this year.
Chuck was a proud Navy veteran where he served as a machinist on USS Trathen from 1957 until 1962. He later became a machinist for the Union Pacific Railroad in 1980 and moved his family to Utah for work. His passion in life included spending time with his family, riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, and recreating on his property in Idaho.
Chuck is proceeded in death by his mother Millie, and daughter Patty
A viewing for family and friends will be held at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd, Layton, Utah, Monday, June 5, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 E 5550 S, Ogden, Utah, Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
A last ride in remembrance of Chuck will follow the funeral services and all are welcome to join even in cars. Military Honors will be done at about 1:30pm at Washington Heights Cemetery in South Ogden.
