Charles "Chuck" Francis Cochran Charles "Chuck" Francis Cochran, of New Matamoras, OH, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born at home in Beavertown, the beloved son of Vernon "Jiggs" and Marion Cochran. A proud graduate of New Matamoras High School, he went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. His service shaped his sense of duty and pride, which continued throughout his life. He later worked for Ohio Bell and AT&T and retired after many dedicated years. For a time, he also owned and operated the 7&8 Inn in Fly, OH. He was a deeply involved man in his community. He served as Commander of the American Legion Post 378, was a proud member of Masonic Lodge 374, St. Marys Elks B.P.O.E. # 1701, VFW Post 9930, Moose Lodge 931, and Shriners of Wheeling. He loved the simple joys in life: woodworking in his garage, keeping his car clean, gardening, and going to his grandkids sporting events. He was always the first to mow the yard when spring arrived. He found peace in playing golf, including a memorable hole-in-one, playing pool, Wii golf, card games like Golf, and Phase 10. He also enjoyed watching Old Westerns, putting together puzzles and spending time with family. He always had a Bit of Honey or Payday nearby, just one of his simple pleasures. His family and friends meant everything to him. He never missed an opportunity to show up, lend a hand or make someone laugh with his easy charm and gentle spirit. Above all, he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Garnet, with whom he shared 28 wonderful years. He was a loving father to his daughters, Dee Ann (Curt) Luburgh, and Nicole (Glenn) Reed, and step-daughter, Angie (Ben) Riggenbach. He deeply cherished his grandchildren, Cole (Christina) and Brock Luburgh, Josie (Brody), Emma and Gracen Reed, Steven (Liz) Hall, Alanna Gust, and great-grandchildren, Carson and Bexley Hall. He is survived by his brother Gary (RuthAnn) Cochran, Mick (Ginny) Cochran and Sue (Scott) Mahoney. He had many special neighbors and friends, including his golfing buddies, Sam Buddervich, and Jim Beaver. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Murph and Marty Pryor, Sister, Donna Minder, and great-granddaughter, Kinslee Hall. A cremation will take place under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home, with a Memorial Visitation to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Riverleigh Room 212 2nd Street, St. Marys, WV 26170 on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 p.m. An online register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
