Charles Melvin Combs, Jr.

Charles Melvin Combs, Jr., age 61 of Gatesville, Texas, passed away on August 7, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, at the Mound Cowboy Church Pavillion.

Chuck was born on October 28, 1963, in Norwood, Colorado to the late Charles Melvin Combs, Sr. and Anita Combs. Chuck cowboyed as a young man in Colorado and then served as a Sherriff’s Deputy in Kansas. He spent the majority of his career working in the gold mines in Nevada. Chuck and Stacie enjoyed traveling and he was a great supporter of Stacie’s work as a house mom for a college. Chuck enjoyed his retirement years in Texas, meeting new friends and connecting with church members.

Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Charles Melvin Combs, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Stacie Combs; mother, Anita Combs; daughter, Casie Combs; son, Ty Yoho; sister, Charline and husband, Dan; nieces and nephews, Daniel Cummins, Charles Cummins and wife, Amanda, Tabitha Peterson, and husband, Karl; and great nieces and nephews, Payton, Cheyenne, Haylee, Cassie, Stephanie, Ariebella, Brailee, Jaycee and Jaydan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mound Cowboy Church and White Mound Baptist Church Vacation Bible School program, Mound Cowboy Church, P.O. Box 103, Mound, TX 76558.
