Charles Mitchell Dalme passed away in the presence of his family on Friday, October 6, 2023.
Charles was born to Herbert and Nellie on January 23, 1942 in Pineville, LA. He graduated from Cloutierville High School and then was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1964. There he served his country for one tour in Vietnam before being honorably discharged in 1966. Charles was a true Louisiana outdoors man that loved to spend his time hunting and fishing. He never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. Charles will be dearly missed by so many.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye; a daughter, Pam Hofer and her husband Leif along with his grandchildren Preston and Paige. He is also survived by his nephew Donovan Smith and his wife Stephanie of Frierson, LA as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
A service to honor his life will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Reverend Peter Faulk officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Rachal Cemetery in Marco, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Monday, October 9th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Brett Dalme, Brian Dalme, Barry Dalme, Bruce Dalme, Bradley Dalme, and Kevin Dunn. Honorary pallbearers will be Donovan Smith, Phillip Dunn, Preston Hofer, Charles Brossett, and Clay Henderson.
