Rose Marie Dalme, known affectionately as Rose Marie to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, in
Jefferson, Texas. Born on January 24, 1933, in
Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Rose Marie lived a vibrant life filled with passion and spirit. She left this world at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a zest for life that will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Rose Marie was the cherished daughter of Leonard and Mary Scinto, immigrants from Italy who instilled in her a strong sense of family and heritage. She grew up in New Jersey where she attended Highland Park High School, a time when she began to form her lifelong values of hard work and dedication. After graduation, Rose Marie's adventurous spirit led her to a significant role as a civilian typesetter for the military, a job that would change the course of her life forever.
It was in this capacity that she met the love of her life, James Ray Dalme, of
Cloutierville, Louisiana. The two were united in marriage and enjoyed many happy years together until his passing. Rose Marie and James Ray built a family, eventually settling in
Joshua Tree, CA upon James retirement from the Air Force. Rose Marie's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, raising her boys with the same love and determination she applied to every aspect of her life. Once her sons had grown and the life of a military wife was over Rose Marie continued to showcase her strong work ethic at Safeway, where she was known for her reliability and spirited personality. Her colleagues at Safeway, much like everyone else who knew Rose Marie, found her to be an interesting and passionate individual who brought enthusiasm to her work every day.
Rose Marie's family was her pride and joy, including her son Terry Dalme, her son Randy Dalme and his wife Brenda, her granddaughters Jessica Frey and Samantha Broadway, and her four great-grandchildren, and many cousins who all brought her immense happiness. She was predeceased by her husband James Ray Dalme, her parents Leonard and Mary Scinto, and her younger brother Micheal Scinto.
Beyond her professional life, Rose Marie had an adventurous side that found its expression through her love for trap shooting. She was an active and skilled member of the Hi Desert Rod & Gun Club, where she showcased her competitive spirit and precision, which won her numerous accolades and formed a close-knit community of friends who shared her interests. Rose Marie's infectious laughter and competitive nature made her a favorite among her fellow club members.
Those who knew Rose Marie will remember her as a woman of many talents and interests, but most of all, they will recall her indomitable spirit. She was someone who faced life's challenges head-on and always emerged with a smile. Her passion for life was evident in everything she did, from her commitment to her family to her enjoyment of her hobbies.
As we bid farewell to Rose Marie Dalme, we celebrate a life beautifully lived. We take comfort in knowing that her spirit, her love, and her stories will continue to inspire us, just as the echo of her laughter will continue to resonate in our hearts. Rose Marie's life was a testament to the power of living authentically and loving deeply, and she will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
