Hello, again. With my move quite far away and all the work, I'm sorry it's been so long for me to write again. I moved into the Centerville neighborhood about the same time as Dana, Barbara, and their 6 children. We were fast friends, they became like family to me. We spent a lot of time having interesting discussions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, playing games, working on building their swimming pool and playing jokes on each other. One of our most epic jokes was the divinity. We made it out of snowy flakes you wash clothes with and chopped up walnuts. When it set up, it looked just like divinity, the candy. I couldn't dare to be there when Dana came downstairs and saw it. Barbara and I thought he'd break off a small piece and taste it. Apparently, it looked so good that he picked up a whole piece and put it in his mouth. As soon as his saliva hit it, he started spitting it out. Barbara said it was funny watching him spewing it everywhere. Needless to say, I ended up in the swimming pool fully clothed. I expected nothing less!!!!
To Barbara, Cori, Scott, David, Cathy, Deb and Kristen, I'm so sorry for your loss of your friend and father. It is so hard losing your father, sharing with him and talking to him daily. I miss my father (and mother) every day and I expect you will, too. It gets a little easier with the passing of time, but still you will miss his presence, his wisdom, his sense of humor and so many other things. I am sending my thoughts of goodness and love to each of you, hoping your loss will soften as days pass on.
All my love,
Cheryl

I sent in a long memory on Sunday. It's not been put in the paper yet and I was wondering why not? Thanks. Cheryl McCarrey

I knew Chuck (what we called him then) in 1967-68 when he was in Kanab and at Dixie College. I went to his missionary farewell and wrote to him for awhile. I never saw him again but always wondered what became of him. I came across his obit in the Tribune quite by accident as I seldom read the paper anymore and usually only the editorial page. It was startling to see, but gratifying to know about what sounds like his big colorful life. My condolences to all of you..

Dana made homemade bread and Chile to share with us. I thought it odd but cute that he asked IF I minded if he sliced it and buttered it. I believe it was at the beginning of Covid.
