Charles Edward Dixon, Jr. A man known for his vigorous sense of humor and unwavering strength. He had his final appointment on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 to go be with God. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at Merit Health River Oaks Hospital. Junior was the only son of Charles Sr. and Debbie Dixon. Being the only son carried many responsibilities but he was very proud to carry the title of Junior. He absolutely adored his parents. Junior was born August 16, 1971 in Crystal Springs, MS. He shared twin sisters, Murl & Shirl with his amazing parents. He lived up to his father's name by being strong, sharp, hardworking and family - oriented. He was kind, patient, and understanding like his mother. Charles Sr. & Debbie Dixon did a great job raising him and taught core values that he passed down to his girls and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Devontae V. Dixon and sister Murlean Dixon. Charles, fondly known by his family and friends as "Junior", graduated from Terry High School in 1989. After graduating high school, he pursued an associate degree at Hinds Community College. He later attended Grambling State University and played football. After his college career he began working at Hinds County Detention Center. He worked for Center Pointe Gas Company and later was employed by Atmos Energy in 2001, where he retired after 20 years of serving the Great State of MS. Charles obeyed the gospel of Christ and was baptized at Hanging Moss Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Curtis W. Pittman. Charles was an impeccable man that never met a stranger. He was very dependable, a man of his work and very prompt! He had a radiant smile that was joyful and confident. He truly loved spending time with his family. He spoiled his grandchildren rotten! He enjoyed showing support, love and spending time with not only his grandchildren but also his "girls". He loved and absolutely adored his wife, His Peach Pie, her Honey Bun. He loved spending quality time with his Peach Pie and always finding ways to put a smile on her face. He wore many hats and carried many names: Honey Bunn, son, Junior, Daddy, Paw, Pawpaw, and Unc. He loved wrestling. He was a WWE Wrestling enthusiast. He wrestled with World Wrestling Entertainment winning several Championship belts. A true Steelers Nation Fan! His hobbies included cooking, cleaning, grooming his lawn with pride and fishing. Charles leaves to cherish his memories and great legacy; A devoted faithful wife, Janice Dillard Dixon of Florence, MS; Proud Parents: Charles Sr. & Debbie Dixon of Crystal Springs, MS; Favorite Sister: Shirlean Dixon of Byram, MS; Daughters; His 1st love his "Destiny Faith" Dixon of Clinton, MS, Shandricka (Duke) Dillard of Hattiesburg, MS, Cornessa (Snook) Dillard of Florence, MS; Niece: Zuri Dixon of Nashville, TN; Nephew: Malachi Dixon of Byram, MS; six grandchildren; Christiana (Destiny), Jaedyn, Aidyn, Zaidyn, Kalem, and Leland (Cornessa); Mother-in-love (law) that he affectionately called "Mama" Georgia Sibley of Ruleville, MS; four sisters-in-love: Yvette (James) Shell of Westlake, LA, Stacy Sibley of Jackson, MS, Arkeba Sibley of Memphis, TN; two brothers-in-love: Floyd Riley of Westlake, LA and E.V. Sibley of Houston, TX; 3 Special Friends: Louis Richardson, Larry Barnes, Don McNeill. A host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
