Charles J Dombrowski, age 84, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards, WI.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Port Edwards, WI. Rev. John Swing will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, as well as from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at St. Alexander Catholic Church. Burial rites will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst, WI at 3:00 PM.
Charles was born on November 9, 1939 in Amherst Junction, WI to the late John and Alvina (Shulfer) Dombrowski. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Beatrice Guyant, on June 6, 1959 at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst, WI. Charles joined the workforce as a millworker at the Nekoosa Paper Mill, retiring in 2001 after 43 years of service.
Charles enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, listening to polka music and watching Wisconsin sports teams. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He also devoted twenty years coaching youth softball, baseball, basketball, and women's softball.
Charles is survived by his wife, Beatrice; daughters, Cindy (Rick) Lau, Barb (Mike) Siegel, Wendy (Dave) Vande Streek, and Brenda (Dale) Dickson; son, Chuck (Sara) Dombrowski; grandchildren, Andy (Tracy) Lau, Kevin (Brittney) Lau, Stacy (Keenan) Dummer, Stephanie Siegel, Kimberly Siegel, Erin Fix, Carly Fix, Angela (Eric) Yuds, Julie Dickson, Allison Dombrowski, Lauren Dombrowski and Cooper Dombrowski; great-grandchildren, Everly, Graham, Keegan, Breelyn, Kynslee, Kelvin, Kendra, Gavin, and Adelynn; sisters, Lucille Dallman, and Irene Shopinski; brother-in-law, George (Joan) Guyant; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Gagas and Kathy Guyant.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; sisters, Geneiveve (Frank) Jelinski, Dorothy (Hank) Brezinski, Sally (Ed) Sopa, and Frances (Don) Adamczak; brothers, Ernest (Dorothy) Dombrowski, and Dennis Dombrowski; In-laws, Wakefield and Evelyn Guyant; brothers in law, Clarence Dallman, Leo Shopinski, and Robert Guyant; sisters in law, Marge (Jim) Ross, and Pat (Berto) Guyant.
The family would like to thank the staff of Edgewater Haven Nursing Home that showed Charles compassionate care and love.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Port Edwards Baseball/Softball Association and Port Edwards School District – Blackhawk Athletics.
