Charles King Dunlap Jr (Chuck) 76, passed away peacefully on 8/24/2025 at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. Born on October 7, 1948 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Charles King Dunlap Sr. and Anna Mae Garritt.

He attended High School in Queens, NY but his love to serve his country was calling and he left school at the age of 16 to serve in the U.S. Navy. There he completed 3 tours in Vietnam. After returning home from the war, he met the love of his life, Macy Elaine Dunlap and the two were married in 1970 in Winston-Salem, NC. They spent 35 wonderful years together before Elaine's passing.

Chuck was a dedicated diesel mechanic for Bowman Transportation in Kernersville, NC for a multitude of years. After leaving Bowman, he became a very talented carpenter and wood worker. In his free time, Chuck was an avid marksman and enjoyed recreational shooting. He was such a precise shooter that he mastered the 500-yard range.

Chuck is survived by his son, Michael King Dunlap (wife Tammy), Grandchildren,Ashley Nicole Edwards, Keely Breanne Dunlap, Kaleb Michael Dunlap, Macy Nevaeh Dunlap, and Great-grandchildren, Kaden Alexander McKinney (Ashley), and Jack Glenn Brimmer (Keely).

At this time, there will be no funeral or memorial service per Chuck's request. If you would like to make a donation in honor of Chuck, please send it to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane SE, Bolivia, NC 28422.
