J. Charles Durrough, 83, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 surrounded by his family at his home in Sargent. He was born June 25, 1941 in Carroll County, GA to the late George Durrough and Ila McDowell Durrough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Linni, Lindy, Clyde, Milford Durrough, and Ruby Horsley.
After graduating from high school, he was drafted into the Army, where he honorably served in Vietnam. Charles was a salesman who owned and operated Coweta's first used furniture store, Durrough's Furniture. He was widely known for his love of music and for hosting many playing sessions at his Music Barn.
The funeral is 4 pm Sunday, July 14, 2024 in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The visitation is Saturday evening between 5-7 at McKoon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarrior.org

Survivors include wife, Mary Ann Durrough; children, Terry (Karen) Durrough, Kenny (Tricia) Durrough, Lori (Brad) Binion; grandchildren, Christina Henderson, Bethany Iler, Leah Griffin, Lilly Binion, Breckin Griffin, Corbin Binion, Piper Binion; great-grandchild, Zachary Hunter; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
