Charles Francis Edwards

Charles Francis Edwards, 75, of Asheville, passed away at home on October 30, 2022.
Mr. Edwards was born in Buncombe County to Iva Edwards and the late Carson Edwards. In addition to being a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Charles had a generous, fun-loving spirit. Charles, known to his grandkids as "Pop", was an expert backyard griller that loved to laugh, travel, spend time with his family, and enjoy life to the fullest. His family is blessed to have an abundance of fond memories.
Prior to retirement, he was a plant manager at Owen Manufacturing. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.
In addition to his mother, left to cherish his memory is his wife of 21 years, Diane Edwards; daughter, Melissa Edwards Smith (husband, Caleb Smith) of Raleigh, NC; son, Kirk Edwards (wife, Bo Edwards) of Spruce Pine, NC; and grandchildren, Parker Edwards (18) of Spruce Pine, Levi Smith (13) and Hazel Smith (10) both of Raleigh, NC.
A private celebration of life service will be held by the family at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
