Charles Steven Elder, “Steve”, 68, of Kahoka, Missouri, passed away at 6:02 am on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Steve was born in Keosauqua, Iowa, on February 22, 1957, to Kenneth and Leona (Boyd) Elder. He was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1975. Despite being seriously injured in a car accident in 1978 that left him partially paralyzed, Steve was able to work as an auto mechanic and pursue his passion of buying and restoring cars and making them go fast! Later in his life he worked on small engine repairs for lawnmowers, chainsaws, and his least favorite, weed eaters. Steve was known for his great sense of humor, and his love of both reading and watching westerns. He was a good friend and will be deeply missed by his loving immediate and extended family.
Steve is survived by his mom, Leona, his children; Heather Fenton (Troy) of Kahoka, MO, and his son Brandon Orton of Memphis, MO; 6 grandchildren, Travis and Austin Ferguson, Jacob Conger, Jemma Fenton, and Brendan and Bryson Orton; 2 Great-grandchildren. Eliskah and Braxton Orton, brother Jeffery (Laurie), Elder of Wyaconda, MO, and sisters Karen Tripp of Revere, MO, Janice (Terry) Sturm, of Kahoka, MO, and Carolyn Wright, of San Angelo, TX.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Louise Boyd, Albert and Lizzie Elder; his father, Kenneth Elder; and his brother Ronald “Ronnie” Elder.
There will be a visitation for Steve at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home between 5:00 pm and 7:00pm on Thursday, September 18, 2025, with a funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025. Pastor Shawn McAfee will officiate.

A committal service at Chambersburg Cemetery will take place immediately after the funeral.
Memorials in Steve's name may be made to the Chambersburg Cemetery.
