Charles "Charlie" Everton, a cherished member of his community, passed away on December 19, 2025, at Otterbein Senior Life Community in Franklin, Indiana. Born on June 14, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Charlie lived a full life dedicated to family, service, and hard work.
After graduating from Manual High School in Indianapolis, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving honorably from 1957 to 1960. Charlie was a truck driver and became a respected CDL Inspector.
Charlie was a devoted father to his sons, Todd (Angie) Everton and Kevin (Kimberly) Everton. He took immense pride in his family, which continued to grow over the years. He was the beloved grandfather to grandsons Morgan and Wyatt, as well as granddaughters Emily, Anna Grace, and Melaina. His legacy will also be carried on by his great-grandchildren, Axel, Jackson, and Elise.
In his leisure time, Charlie enjoyed hobbies that allowed him to embrace the outdoors and connect with friends and family. He loved golfing, bowling, and boating.
Charlie is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Everton, his parents Earl Edmond and Fern (Montgomery) Everton, and his siblings, sisters Betty and Marilyn, and brothers Kenny, Don, and Carl. Their spirits will forever accompany him in peace.
A memorial gathering to honor Charlie's life will be held on December 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Indiana Funeral Care - Greenwood Chapel, located at 2433 E. Main St., Greenwood, IN 46143. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Charlie are invited to join in remembrance of a remarkable man who dedicated his life to service and family. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
