Charles Henry Flory, Jr.
Charles Henry Flory, Jr., 100, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in Atwood, Tennessee. He was born in Russum, Mississippi, June 24, 1921, to Mayme Amelia Humphreys Flory and Charles Henry Flory, Sr.
A memorial service for Charles and Margaret Flory will be held at a future date at the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads, Wildersville, TN.
Mr. Flory was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He served in the Air Force for 30 years, the Army Air Corps stateside during WW2, and worked for the Wichita Falls Independent School District for many years. He and Margaret Frances Dorris were married in 1951, and were married for 61 years before her passing at age 93 in Milan, TN on August 7, 2012. Chuck and Margaret moved in 2000 from their long-time home in Wichita Falls, Texas to Milan, Tennessee. They were members of St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in Humboldt. They enjoyed traveling together, their family, and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; brother George Clarence Flory; and parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Flory (Jeff) Coleman of Atwood, TN, Charleen Flory (John) Huffhines of Lubbock, TX; granddaughters Lindsay Huffhines (John) Robinson of East Greenwich, RI, Chelsea Huffhines (James) Duncan of Westminster, CO, Kelly Coleman (Kyle) Waldron of Paris, TN, and Deanna Coleman of Atwood, TN; and great-granddaughters Anna Kay Waldron and Amelia Lynn Coleman.
Memorials may be directed to the Carroll County Humane Society, 21822 TN-22, McKenzie, TN 38201.
